‘Tis the Season to be scrapbooking, fa la la la la, la la la la. (ok, maybe I mixed a few words up?)
The Christmas and New Years holidays are the best time for scrapbooking. I’m not sure what it’s like at your house but this is the time of year where we go crazy with picture taking. Whether it’s Christmas morning and everyone is taking pictures of the gift openings, or it’s a fun New Years Eve party.. there’s tons of photo opportunities, and tons of pictures that will need places to be displayed later!
There are tons of great ideas to be found through many of the links provided through this website. I will include a handful on this page as well for you as well.

So what can you do to spice up your Christmas or New Years scrapbook pages?
Christmas Scrapbooks
Here are some fun ideas for your Christmas scrapbook pages:
- Save some wrapping paper from your gifts and use that as the background for one or more of your pages. I’d recommend using a different gift wrap for each page.
- Try using some ribbons from your gifts to outline or go diagonally across the page.
- Take a look through some of the newspapers and fliers for interesting Christmas logos or pictures. Most companies spend thousands of dollars coming up with catchy phrases or images for their advertisements… why not benefit from their work?
- If you have a real Christmas tree, try taking a few snips (clips, or whatever you want to call it) from the tree.
- Take a few pieces of tinsel or other glittery things from your tree and add it to a page or two. If you can spare the tinsel, glue some around a couple of your favorite pictures.
- Christmas tree pictures, Rudolf, Frosty… all make for great additions to your pages.
New Years Party Scrapbook
Depending on how wild your New Years parties are, I’m sure there will be plenty of fun and exciting things you can do.
- Just like for the Christmas scrapbook pages, try looking through some of your newspapers and fliers for logos, catchy phrases, or images you can incorporate into your pages.
- Got confetti? Try gluing some of those to the pages. This is especially nice if you have colorful confetti.
- Some parties have the little hats you can wear, try flattening one of those and gluing it to the corner of your page.
- Don’t forget to put the year somewhere. Cutting out the numbers on colorful construction paper can be very eye-catching.
- If you’re especially talented with digital photo editing, consider putting Dick Clark in a few of your pictures. It’s sure to bring a few smiles.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
